Purchased this new book after previously buying several of Marcy Goldman's baking books. I couldn't wait to browse through it, cover to cover, when I received it last week. Reading through the various recipes and Marcy's notes was a pleasure, quite warm & inviting, and got me really stoked to start trying some of her recipes. It was difficult to decide on which recipe(s) to first try, as there were so many that appealed to me, from the pancakes & waffles to the chicken dishes to the soups, salads & side dishes. I finally settled on the the Cuban grilled chicken & Greek restaurant potatoes earlier this week, both simple to make, and my husband and loved them both...delicious!!! This morning I made the blueberry sour cream pancakes for 4 of us, and everyone gobbled them up.

I've been baking/cooking since I was a young child, and have devoured many cookbooks over the past 50+ years, but never have I come across cookbooks from 1 author that I have enjoyed as much. Love, love, love Marcy's recipes for breads, cakes & cookies, and now her breakfast, lunch & dinner recipes. Can't wait to try lots more of the recipes!!!

How lucky for all of us that Marcy Goldman decided to publish her favorite cooking recipes. I first knew Marcy from her incredible three cookbooks and her website www.betterbaking.com. Then I took a baking class with her and eventually became a tester for this latest cookbook. Like all of Marcy’s other books, “When Bakers Cook” is fabulous It is full of great ideas for super-delicious meals. Every chapter is just a little more interesting and more creative than other cookbooks. I assure you each recipe will be a hit for your family and for entertaining - for example Red Velvet Waffles with Cream Cheese Glaze, Cheesecake stuffed French Toast with Cidered Apples, Hamburgers with Balsamic Glaze, Potatoes Rustica, Brownie-Stuffed Tollhouse Cookies – I could go on and on! Her directions are very clear and easy so you can count on success with every recipe. Her Greek Restaurant Vinaigrette has become THE salad dressing in our house. Once you try her biscotti you will never use another method again – besides being delicious, they come out perfect and professional looking every time. Her ingredient and equipment section and the whole book is just full of great tips and ideas. Since I got this book I have been inspired to do something a little extra special to make every meal more exciting. I can see why the Washington Post listed this great new book as one of the best cookbooks of 2013. I have bookshelves full of cookbooks but Marcy’s books stay right on my counter – I use them constantly.
